SEN Teacher (Fixed-Term Contract - Long-Term Absence Cover)
Prospero Teaching is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join a highly supportive and nurturing specialist school in Fareham, Hampshire, from September on a fixed-term contract to cover a long-term staff absence.
This welcoming special school caters for pupils aged 3-11 years with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school is dedicated to providing a personalised, inclusive, and engaging curriculum that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an SEN Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes. Create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals. Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress effectively. Support pupils' communication, social, emotional, and personal development.Contract Details

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is desirable. Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties. Experience of adapting teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs. A strong understanding of EHCPs and person-centred approaches to learning. Up-to-date Safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training).Person Specification
