SEN Teacher with Dyslexia Specialism

  • Location: London, Lambeth
  • Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Salary: £40,766 - £62,092 per year (UPS 3)

We are seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teacher with a specialism in Dyslexia to join our dedicated team at a forward-thinking Secondary School committed to delivering inclusive education. This role offers the opportunity to significantly impact students' lives, ensuring they reach their full potential through personalised support.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver ambitious, tailored programmes of work, resources, and teaching strategies for students with dyslexia.
  • Lead high-quality interventions that align with the SEN Code of Practice (2015), focusing on the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring skills acquired are transferred into the wider curriculum.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on dyslexia and word-level difficulties.
  • Champion and embed a dyslexia-friendly culture throughout the school.
  • Develop and lead targeted interventions to support students with dyslexia and related needs.
  • Share best practices in learning support and special educational needs (SEN), with a focus on dyslexia, to enhance teaching and learning across the school.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • QTS (or equivalent) and a good undergraduate degree.
  • Level 5 or Level 7 qualification in teaching students with dyslexia.
  • Evidence of continued professional development, including in-service training.
  • A minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience at Level 5 or 7.
