1:1 SEN SUPPORT ASSISTANT - SEPTEMBER START 💜

📍 Brighouse | 🏫 Primary School | ⏰ Full-Time

Academics Educational Recruitment are looking for a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brighouse from September.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide individualised support to a Reception-aged girl who has partial seizures and global developmental delay.

🌟 ABOUT THE ROLE

Working closely with the child and school team, you will provide support with:

💜 Emotional wellbeing and reassurance

🧸 Helping her feel safe, settled and confident in the school environment

📚 Supporting her learning and development

🚶‍♀️ Providing mobility support when required

🤝 Encouraging independence and positive relationships

🩷 Offering calm and reassuring support following episodes of partial seizures

Paediatric First Aid training will be provided. Experience of seizures is helpful but not essential - the support required following her partial seizures is primarily about providing comfort, reassurance and a calm presence, alongside following the school's agreed procedures.

👩‍🏫 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The successful candidate will ideally have experience supporting children with SEN, either:

Within a school or education setting
In a care/support environment
Or through relevant personal experienceMost importantly, you will be patient, compassionate, observant and emotionally reassuring, with a genuine desire to help a young child thrive.
