We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and make a meaningful difference to the lives of students with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, dyslexia, and moderate learning difficulties.
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities that meet individual education plans and support student progress.
Encourage students to engage positively with lessons and participate fully in school life.
Support students' emotional, social, and behavioural development through consistent and nurturing approaches.
Work alongside teaching staff to adapt learning resources and classroom activities to meet individual needs.
Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with teachers and relevant staff.
Provide support during break times, lunchtimes, educational visits, and extracurricular activities where required.
Promote independence while ensuring students receive the appropriate level of support.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will ideally possess:

GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly at KS3 and KS4 level.
A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a similar childcare/education qualification.
An understanding of a variety of SEN needs and effective support strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Confidence working both independently and as part of a wider support team.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Enhanced DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Skills and Experience

Specialist SEN training or relevant professional development.
Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or communication difficulties.
Knowledge of Makaton, British Sign Language (BSL), or alternative communication methods.
Understanding of inclusive classroom practices and behaviour support strategies.
