Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Autism Base from September. This is a full-time opportunity for a caring, patient, and proactive individual who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils with autism within a specialist Autism Base setting. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities. Promote pupils' social, emotional, and communication development. Provide one-to-one and small group support. Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Encourage independence and celebrate individual achievements.The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (school-based experience desirable). Demonstrates patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families. Is adaptable, resilient, and able to respond to individual pupil needs. Holds relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or SEND support (desirable but not essential).The School Offers
