Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Acton, West London
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term (Term-time only)
Salary: £85–£115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate and Ongoing Start Dates Available
A welcoming and inclusive school in Acton, West London is seeking a committed and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join their support team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and dedicated to supporting pupils with additional needs to thrive both academically and emotionally.
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who require additional support due to a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), and learning difficulties. Support may be delivered on a one-to-one basis, in small intervention groups, or within the classroom environment.

Provide tailored academic and emotional support to pupils with SEN
Support the implementation of EHCPs, IEPs, and individual behaviour plans
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to meet pupil needs
Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills
Promote positive behaviour using consistent strategies
Adapt learning materials to support different learning styles
Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil wellbeing at all times
This role would suit someone who is:

Confident working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
Flexible and adaptable within a school environment
A strong communicator and team player
Reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
Understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Right to work in the UK
SEN or education-related qualifications
Team Teach or behaviour management training
Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units
Background in education, psychology, care, or youth work
