A specialist SEN school in Southwark is looking for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and develop its special educational needs provision. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate SEN professional to make a significant impact in a well-resourced, inclusive, and supportive environment, ensuring that students with additional needs receive the best possible education and support.

Role Highlights:

• Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school


• Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop and implement effective interventions
  


• Oversee and coordinate EHCPs, ensuring compliance with SEN legislation


• Provide training and support to staff to enhance inclusive teaching practices


• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting support strategies as needed


• Collaborate with parents, carers, and multi-agency teams to ensure holistic student support


• Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and commitment to student success
  

Experience & Qualifications:

• 
  Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential


• 
  NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it) preferred


• Experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEN role within a specialist or mainstream setting


• Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP procedures


• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills


• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external professionals


• Enhanced DBS check required
