Job Description - SEND Programme Project Worker (Further Education)

Role: SEND Project Worker for
adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities (internally
referred to as Building Futures Project Worker)

Location: Our sessions are based
at community venues across Surrey, with this role being
primarily based across Guildford and Woking.

Hours: Full time 40  hours per week, Monday
- Friday 9am to 5pm with occasional weekends and evenings for
specific events (Potential for term time only contracts).

Salary: Â£19,387.50 to £25,850

Annual Leave: 33 days, inclusive of
bank holidays.

Training: Fully paid training is
given and further development opportunities are available.

Start Date: We are hiring for the new academic year in September, with an estimated start date of the beginning of August.

We are looking for
people to support learners in a project
worker capacity on our fantastic community based
learning programme, Building Futures, around the local
Guildford and Woking areas, which will be welcoming a new year group to the programme. Click here to

You will be
responsible for:

  • Supporting the
    delivery of sessions to groups of between 6 -12 young
    adults (please see the timetable below for an example of
    the types of sessions)

  • Encouraging learners to participate in facilitated sessions.
  • Safely transporting learners around the community to different venues.
  • Providing a high
    level of service and support to our participants, colleagues
    and stakeholders 

  • Safeguarding and
    ensuring a safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led
    service – compliant with regulations and legislation.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with individuals with a learning disability.

  • Excellent
    communication and organisation skills

  • Enthusiastic and
    caring

  • Confident in
    supporting and delivering outstanding person -centred sessions
    to groups

  • Due to the physical
    nature of the programme and community working, a good level of
    fitness and stamina is required.

  • You will ideally be
    proactive and keen for continuous improvement in yourself and
    the adults you are supporting, contributing to the development
    of the programme and working closely with the team.

  • Aged 18 and
    above.

  • Right to work in
    the UK. 
    Please note we
    are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this
    role.

  • Willing to provide
    suitable reference and undertake a DBS Check. The initial
    cost of the DBS application will be paid for by halow.

    offence for people who are barred from working in Regulated
    Activity (Under the Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups Act
