Are you a caring, patient and resilient individual who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Kidderminster, supporting children and young people with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, anxiety and trauma-related difficulties.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands that every child communicates differently and that challenging behaviour can often be a way of expressing unmet needs, frustration or emotional distress.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide a safe, supportive and structured learning environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
You will support pupils with their learning, emotional regulation, social development and day-to-day wellbeing, helping them to build confidence, develop positive relationships and reach their full potential.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, autism, anxiety or trauma-related needs. Is confident and able to manage challenging behaviour, including verbal outbursts, swearing, emotional dysregulation and periods of heightened distress. Remains calm, patient and professional when faced with difficult or unpredictable situations. Understands the importance of a trauma-informed, nurturing and non-judgemental approach. Can establish clear boundaries while maintaining positive, trusting relationships with pupils. Is resilient, adaptable and able to think on their feet in a demanding environment. Can follow behaviour support plans, safeguarding procedures and school policies. Is committed to promoting inclusion, dignity, respect and positive outcomes for every child. What We Offer The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference in children's lives. A supportive team environment with a shared commitment to pupil wellbeing. Valuable experience within a specialist SEN setting. The chance to develop your skills and knowledge in supporting children with complex needs. Apply Today
If you are passionate about supporting children who need patience, understanding and consistency, and you have the resilience to manage challenging behaviour with compassion and professionalism, we would love to hear from you.
