SEND Teacher

• Location: Tokers Green, Reading
• Salary: £31,650 - £45,646 p.a. (M1- UPS1)
• Contract: Full-time, Permanent

This forward-thinking school opened in November 2024; they cater to young people aged 6-16 with autism spectrum disorder and moderate to severe learning needs. Their mission is to provide individualised, specialist education that prepares our students for adult life in a supportive and nurturing environment.

• Be responsible for the quality of teaching and learning of all pupils assigned to you, focusing on their progress, welfare, and outcomes.
• Supervise and guide any support staff working with your pupils.
• Provide leadership in a curriculum area, including monitoring standards, contributing to school planning, and supporting professional development of peers.
• Advise the Head of Education on resources and materials and lead professional development activities.
• Uphold and promote the school's values, ensuring they are integrated into daily practices and teaching methods.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder and learning difficulties is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to provide support and guidance to other staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
