SEND Teacher

A school in Dawlish is looking for an SEND Teacher to start in January 2026 on a fixed term contract until January 2027 to cover maternity leave. £32,916 - £45,352. 

An SEND Teacher would support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities by implementing the school's SEND policy, co-ordinating their learning provision, assessing their progress, and working in partnership with parents and external agencies. This role involves teaching, often in small groups or individually, creating a safe and inclusive environment, developing students' confidence, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure the best possible support for each child. 

What the school are looking for

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience working in mainstream or specialist settings with children who have SEND (desirable)
• A successful SEND teacher is patient, adaptable, well-organised, and a collaborative team player who brings positivity and enthusiasm to engage and inspire pupils.
