SEND Teaching Assistant - Permanent Role
  • Annual Salary: £17,842 - £25,000 (plus SEND point £2,679 - £5,285)
  • Location: Ackworth, West Yorkshire
  • Job Type: Permanent (September start)

An OFSTED outstanding SEND provision in Ackworth are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team and support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences for all pupils.

Reed Education is proud to present this exciting and exclusive opportunity at an "outstanding" SEND provision in Ackworth, West Yorkshire. We are seeking a dedicated SEND teaching assistant who is passionate about providing a high level of specialised education for young people aged 11-19 years who have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties (including ASDs, sensory impairment, challenging behaviour and physical difficulties).

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of inclusive learning to support pupils with educational healthcare plans (EHCPs):

  • Work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning in the classroom
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to children who need additional help
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development alongside their academic progress
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions
  • Support with routine administrative tasks to aid smooth classroom operations


About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Positive, flexible, and patient approach to working with young learners
  • Confident in building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Passionate about helping children with communication and interaction needs thrive
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable) or willingness to work towards one
