SEND Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Engage Education is working closely with a number of inclusive, supportive schools in the Hammersmith area, who are looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants to work with pupils across both primary and secondary settings.

This is an exciting opportunity for dedicated, compassionate individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, and other learning needs.

Roles are available on both a long-term and temp-to-perm basis.

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND

• Help pupils access learning and participate fully in school life

• Support class teachers with differentiated learning activities

• Assist in the implementation of EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets

• Foster positive relationships with pupils to promote self-esteem and independence

• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in school, care, youth work, or a similar setting)

• Are patient, understanding, and resilient

• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff alike

• Are committed to promoting inclusion and removing barriers to learning

• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
