An established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer is looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to join their commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced account management professional with a background in manufacturing or engineering who enjoys building long-term customer relationships and acting as the key link between customers and internal teams.
The Role
As the primary commercial contact for a portfolio of key accounts, you will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and coordinating customer requirements across engineering, production, planning and quality departments.
You will manage customer expectations from order placement through to delivery, providing regular updates, resolving issues proactively and identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop relationships with key strategic customer accounts.
*
Act as the main point of contact for all commercial and operational enquiries.
*
Lead customer review meetings, discussing delivery performance, quality and future business opportunities.
*
Work closely with engineering, production, planning and quality teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
*
Monitor order progress and delivery schedules, proactively managing any risks or delays.
*
Coordinate customer communications regarding order status and programme updates.
*
Support contract review processes and ensure customer requirements are accurately communicated internally.
*
Identify opportunities to increase revenue within existing customer accounts.
*
Produce account performance reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
*
Represent the business during customer visits, meetings and audits.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*
Proven experience in Account Management, Customer Relationship Management or Key Account Management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
*
Experience managing strategic customer relationships and delivering exceptional customer service.
*
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
*
Experience working closely with operations, engineering, production and quality teams.
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
*
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP and/or CRM systems.
*
A proactive, organised approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Experience within precision engineering, machining or manufacturing would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
