Senior Accountant

• Annual Salary: £45,000 - £55,000

Reed Croydon is working with a growing and forward-thinking practice who are looking to add a Senior Accountant on to their team. This role is perfect for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who is adept at managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs, sole traders and directors. You will oversee and mentor two trainees who are looking to progress to junior portfolio managers, they are responsible for most of the accounts work which will be reviewed by yourself enabling you to focus on leading client interactions to drive growth and secure additional business.

• Oversee and mentor two trainee accountants, ensuring their professional development.
• Manage a varied client portfolio, providing comprehensive accounting services including VAT returns, bookkeeping, self-assessments, and corporate tax.
• Lead client interactions, including calls and visits, to strengthen relationships and explore new business opportunities.
• Utilise IRIS software and various cloud-based client software to maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Drive the growth of the practice by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through effective client management and service delivery.

• ACA or ACCA qualification with practice experience.
• Proven experience in managing a portfolio of clients in an accountancy practice, particularly SMEs, sole traders, and directors.
• Strong leadership skills with experience overseeing junior staff.
• Proficiency in IRIS and familiarity with various cloud-based accounting software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining strong client relationships.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to business development.
• Expertise in VAT returns, bookkeeping, self-assessments, and corporate tax.
