Role: Senior Accountant
Location: Huddersfield
Salary: £38,000- 43,000pa – depending on experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week but flexible working hours
Hybrid: 1 day per week available after probation period

Our client is a multidisciplinary professional services firm offering expertise in Accounting & Business Advisory, Tax, Financial Planning, and Legal services, with offices located nationwide.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

• Manage and take full ownership of a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery
• Prepare and review complex financial statements for corporate clients
• Compile and assess interim management accounts for accuracy and insight
• Prepare and review personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with current legislation
• Prepare and review partnership accounts and associated tax returns
• Oversee and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with statutory requirements
• Support in the development of financial forecasts and business projections (desirable but not essential)
• Participate in client meetings and liaise directly with company directors and business owners
• Provide training, guidance, and task delegation to junior team members

Qualifications and Experience:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in a practice environment, ideally at the level of Accounts Senior or Assistant Manager, seeking further career progression
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage workloads while supporting the development of team members
• Proficient in Office 365 and capable of using in-house systems and developing spreadsheets as required; experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks is highly advantageous
• Strong working knowledge of accounts preparation software, preferably IRIS
• Proven track record of managing a diverse client portfolio, with experience in accounts, tax, and advisory services, including a focus on business development
• Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail
