Role Overview

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients and take the lead on both accounts and audit assignments. You will be a trusted advisor to business owners and finance teams, as well as a mentor to junior staff, contributing to the firm’s continued growth and reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of clients across multiple industries, ensuring high-quality service delivery

Prepare and review statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP

Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion

Supervise and develop junior team members, reviewing work and providing constructive feedback

Maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive business and financial advice

Ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met

Identify areas for additional client support or business development opportunities

Candidate Requirements

ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

Minimum 4 years’ experience in a general accountancy practice

Strong experience in both accounts preparation and audit

Sound technical knowledge of accounting standards and audit processes

Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

Proficient in accountancy software such as IRIS, CaseWare, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar

Organised, commercially aware, and client-focused
