Senior Accountant

NXTGEN is working closely with a forward-thinking and fast-growing Accountancy Practice in Ipswich to recruit a Senior Accountant, as the firm continues to expand during a sustained period of growth. As a Senior Accountant, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to a broad portfolio of clients, helping them understand their finances and make strategic decisions. Whether you're already managing a portfolio or ready to step into that responsibility, there's plenty of scope to grow within the role. You'll be exposed to a mix of compliance and advisory work and will be encouraged to get involved in shaping the future direction of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare year-end accounts, tax returns, and other compliance tasks for a range of clients across different industries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and main point of contact.
• Support junior team members through training, development, and reviewing their work.
• Assist clients with their move to cloud-based platforms, ensuring a smooth transition.
• Represent the firm at local events and explore opportunities to grow the client portfolio.

What the client is looking for:

• ACA/ACCA qualified, nearly qualified, or QBE.
• Background in practice with experience working with a range of clients.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or similar cloud-based accounting software.
• Comfortable managing client relationships and delivering a high level of service.
• Proactive, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
