Senior Accountant

Sheridan Maine is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team in Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
-Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
-Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies.
-Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
-Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
-Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
-Collaborate with auditors and provide necessary documentation.
-Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.

Requirements:
-Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
-Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
-Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero).
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
-Effective communication and team leadership skills.
