Senior Accountant

Our client is a well-established and growing firm of accountants seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Client Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, acting as the primary point of contact and building strong long-term relationships while delivering an exceptional level of service.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of industries and business structures.


• Acting as the main point of contact for client queries and providing ongoing support and advice.


• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 105.


• Preparing and reviewing Corporation Tax computations and returns.


• Overseeing personal tax returns and VAT submissions.


• Producing management accounts, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reports.


• Providing insightful financial analysis and commercially focused recommendations to clients.


• Supporting clients with business planning, growth strategies, and profitability improvements.


• Reviewing and signing off work prepared by junior members of the team.


• Mentoring, coaching, and developing trainees and junior accountants.


• Ensuring all assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.


• Identifying opportunities to add value through proactive tax planning and business advisory services.


• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Applicants should be ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified, although qualified by experience (QBE) candidates with a strong accountancy practice background will also be considered. Previous experience managing your own client portfolio within a UK accountancy practice environment is essential, along with strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation, taxation, and compliance. Experience using software such as Xero, IRIS, Sage Line 50, and other cloud-based accounting packages would be advantageous.
