Role: Senior Accountant

Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join one of our longstanding clients, an established practice in Brighton.

This is a senior, hands-on position managing a portfolio of key clients while overseeing workflow, supporting junior team members and providing a high standard of accountancy and tax advice.

The Requirements:

Significant previous experience within an accountancy practice
Relevant accounting/bookkeeping qualification or qualified by experience
Strong working knowledge of Sage and Xero
Excellent organisation and time management
Strong people management and leadership skills
Confident written and verbal communication
Ability to analyse financial information accurately
Excellent attention to detail

The Role:

Manage a portfolio of key clients and build strong relationships
Ensure client submissions and deadlines are met
Advise clients on relevant accountancy and tax changes
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Prepare statutory accounts for partnerships and limited companies
Prepare Directors' personal tax returns and review dividend positions
Manage workflow and support the wider accounting team
Oversee Bookkeepers and Account Juniors
Train and develop junior staff
Prepare P11Ds and work towards monthly billing targets
