Job Description - Senior Accounts Assistant

?? Glasgow / Hybrid | ?? Full-Time | ?? £25,000 – £35,000 DOE

A leading accountancy practice is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid experience in management accounts preparation who’s looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll be joining a firm that supports a diverse client base, offering exposure to varied industries and projects while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare management accounts, financial statements, and tax returns for a portfolio of clients
Assist senior accountants with audits and financial analysis
Support with VAT returns, bookkeeping, and general ledger maintenance
Prepare corporation tax computations and liaise with HMRC as required
Provide timely responses to client queries and maintain strong client relationships
Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and internal quality standards

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Previous Accounts Assistant experience, ideally in practice.
Proven ability to prepare management accounts independently
Strong understanding of UK accounting principles and tax legislation
Confident using a range of accounting and spreadsheet tools
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills
Experience in statement confirmation and payroll is advantageous
Full right to work in the UK
