The Opportunity
Our client, a leading highways contractor, is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to support the commercial delivery of highways and infrastructure projects across Kent.
These hybrid roles offer a mix of site, office, and home-based working. Successful candidates will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects while maintaining strong relationships with local authority clients and key stakeholders.
Whether you're an established Quantity Surveyor looking for your next contract or a Senior Quantity Surveyor capable of leading commercial activities across multiple projects, we'd be keen to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial performance of highways and infrastructure projects. Prepare and submit applications for payment, valuations, variations, and final accounts. Produce accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly financial reports. Administer NEC contracts, including compensation events and change control. Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities. Procure and manage subcontractor packages and accounts. Work closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial and contractual requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners. Support the successful delivery of highways and civil engineering schemes. For Senior Quantity Surveyors, provide commercial leadership, mentoring, and support to junior members of the team.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the highways, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors. Strong highways experience, ideally delivering works for local authority clients. Contractor-side experience with regular client-facing responsibilities. Strong understanding and practical application of NEC contracts. Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline. Experience working within local authority frameworks. Membership of RICS, CICES, or a similar professional body.
