• Team: Private Wealth (Succession & Tax)


• Location: Hybrid working from Exeter, Plymouth, Southampton or Bristol.


• Working Pattern: Full-time/Part-time

Why this role matters: This is a key opportunity to join our highly regarded Private Wealth team, advising High Net and Ultra High Net Worth individuals, families, and their advisors on a broad range of private client matters. You’ll work on complex and high-value issues including estate and succession planning, trusts, tax structuring, probate, and wealth preservation. You’ll play a central role in managing client relationships, delivering tailored legal solutions, and contributing to the strategic growth of our Private Wealth practice. Whether advising entrepreneurs, landowners, family offices, or international families, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that delivers clear, commercially focused advice.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll:

• Advise on estate and succession planning, including wills, lifetime gifts, and family governance


• Manage complex probate and estate administration matters


• Work closely with clients who own rural estates, business assets


• Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver integrated advice, particularly in tax, real estate, and corporate matters


• Supervise and mentor junior lawyers, contributing to their development and the strength of the team


• Engage in business development and networking to grow your profile and the firm’s presence in the region

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused environment and brings:

• At least 5 years’ PQE in private client or private wealth law


• A STEP qualification (or working towards it) is desirable


• Strong experience in succession planning, trusts, tax, and estate administration


• A commercial and pragmatic approach to client service


• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted, long-term relationships


• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring and team development
