We are currently looking for a Senior Engineer (Control Systems Engineer) to join a leading biotechnology manufacturing organization based in the UK. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Senior Engineer (Control Systems Engineer) will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
• Lead the design, delivery, and lifecycle management of GMP-compliant control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI to support manufacturing processes. • Define system architectures, standards, and ensure traceability throughout project phases from user requirements to software design and deployment. • Oversee automation system development, configuration, and software validation, ensuring adherence to regulatory and GMP standards. • Manage commissioning, qualification, validation activities, and coordinate system handovers, leading audits and interface with regulators and vendors. • As the Control Systems SME, you will lead automation improvement initiatives, support digital transformation strategies, and manage change control processes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Senior Engineer (Control Systems Engineer) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
• A Degree or higher level in engineering or a science discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Automation Engineering). • Proven experience in automation system design, validation, and lifecycle management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar regulated environments. • Extensive knowledge of PLC, SCADA (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), GMP, data integrity, and validation standards.
