Outsource UK are recruiting for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to support a major digital transformation initiative for a vital public sector organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that have a direct impact on communities across Scotland — building and maintaining the infrastructure that keeps essential services flowing. You’ll be part of a team driving cloud-first innovation, using Azure to modernise and future-proof digital operations.

What you’ll be doing
This is more than just a support role — you’ll be engineering secure, scalable and resilient Azure solutions that serve real-world needs. Your work will include:

• Designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure
• Building and configuring Azure landing zones
• Setting up secure networking and governance models
• Applying the Azure Well-Architected Framework to optimise for performance, security and cost
• Supporting continuous improvement across infrastructure and DevOps practices
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategy with business goals
• Mentoring and sharing best practices with colleagues to raise cloud maturity

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a confident Azure expert with a deep understanding of cloud services and infrastructure. You should have experience in:

• Azure infrastructure design and operations
• Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform)
• Cloud adoption strategies such as analytics platforms and Azure VMware
• Working with M365 technologies and hybrid environments
• Cross-team collaboration, stakeholder communication, and mentoring
