Senior Azure Platform Engineer - Farnborough (Hybrid) - SC Cleared - Salary up to £65,000
We're looking for a Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, cloud-native platforms for highly regulated and mission-critical environments. This is an opportunity to work with modern Azure technologies, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code and automation, helping to build resilient platforms that support some of the UK's most important programmes.
The Role
As a Senior Azure Platform Engineer, you'll take ownership of designing, building and supporting secure Azure infrastructure while working alongside architects, software engineers and delivery teams to create scalable, resilient cloud platforms.
You'll play a key role in improving platform reliability, security and automation while helping shape technical direction across cloud infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Designing and maintaining Azure infrastructure across Kubernetes, Virtual Machines, networking, storage and databases Building secure hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity using technologies such as Virtual WAN, VPNs and BGP routing Implementing Azure security best practices including RBAC, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud and network segmentation Designing and maintaining Kubernetes environments for secure, scalable application deployments Building and improving CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software delivery Developing Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and automation tooling Implementing monitoring and observability across cloud platforms Driving automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort Supporting engineering teams with platform best practices and cloud adoption Continuously improving platform performance, resilience and security as the environment evolves.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
5+ years' experience in Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or similar cloud infrastructure roles Strong Azure expertise, ideally supported by AZ-104 and AZ-305 certifications Excellent knowledge of Azure networking including Virtual WAN, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, BGP, NSGs and Private Endpoints Strong Kubernetes and container orchestration experience Experience with Terraform and HashiCorp tooling such as Vault or Packer Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD or similar Strong Git and version control knowledge A passion for automation and modern DevOps practices Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teamsExperience with JFrog products, Coder or additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud would be advantageous but isn't essential. Above all, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and continuously improving the platforms they build.
