Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation, design, and development of cutting-edge software throughout the agile development lifecycle.
Provide specialised expertise to ensure the highest quality standards are met, influencing the direction of development teams.
Design, develop, and configure applications, components, and tools in alignment with technical plans set by our Development Technical Lead.
Champion Software Development Standards and Best Practices within agile teams, resolving complex technical challenges to drive efficiency and excellence.
Uphold TfL's principles and standards of Technology and Data, ensuring deliverables are of superior quality, performance, and alignment with organizational priorities.
Contribute to development plans, forecasts, and budgetary estimates, facilitating consistent and timely project planning.
Produce technical material to support governance processes like architecture and change review.
Offer development expertise to evaluate and integrate new technologies effectively.
Address software application defects in accordance with agreed developer operations practices.

Key Qualifications:

Expertise in software engineering techniques, including implementing flexible design patterns and configuring off-the-shelf systems.
Broad knowledge of planning and management tools, industry standards (e.g., security, PCI DSS), cloud platforms, and 3rd party contractual requirements.
Familiarity with electronic document control systems is desirable.
Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area is preferred.
Proficiency in translating specifications into software implementation for large, complex distributed systems involving diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in at least one development language (e.g., C#, Java, Javascript, SQL, Power Shell) or industry-standard methodologies, content management tools, or database/application performance optimisation.
