Job DescriptionWe are excited to announce that we have a superb opportunity to join Cumming Europe, in the role of Senior Bid Manager in our Cardiff Office, focused on bids and new business pursuits.The Senior Bid Manager, New Business, works closely with Cumming Group consultants to support a broad range of marketing activities to win new business through bids, RFPs, frameworks, interviews and pitches.You will be a key member of the marketing team as we grow and expand as a business across Europe, working closely with consultants and sector leads, as well as the rest of the marketing team in Europe. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, UK & Europe, but also working with the Director of Growth, you will collaborate to produce amazing collateral, compelling project case studies, impactful client presentations, and more, and in the process improve our win rate and spot new business opportunities.As part of the wider marketing team you will also be asked to help with relevant events, brand asset updates and internal communications, as required.This role will be based in our Cardiff office, with regular trips to other UK locations. You will focus on Infrastructure and public sector business opportunities across UK and Europe, plus new or growth sectors for Cumming Group like Data Centres and Life Sciences. You will be working closely with our bid coordinator and a colleague currently being hired into an equivalent role who will focus on Real Estate.The role of a Senior Bid Manager includes the following responsibilities:Work collaboratively with marketing operations and consultants to lead the proposal process, including scheduling, tracking and planningWorking closely with the Bid Coordinators/Managers to ensure all requirements for final bid submission are metPrepare customised collateral and SOQs as required throughout the sales process for each opportunityCollaborate with the Senior Director of Marketing, Director of Growth and business leaders to develop strategic plans to deliver against company goalsParticipate in regular meetings and play an active role in the development of plans to win major new client or project pursuitsCreation of customised collateral and statements of qualifications (SOQs), proposal development, interview coaching and preparation support, information collection and organization, and consultant team supportHelp ensure bid activity is tracked in the CRM or shared tracking systemPrepare customised collateral and SOQs as required throughout the sales process for each opportunityWork with the operations and business development teams to prepare client presentations including presentation slide decks, rehearsal/coaching, and graphics/leave behindsParticipate in client debriefs around lost pursuits, identify lessons learned to increase win ratesSupport the collection and input of project, team member, and boilerplate proposal information into the company’s various databasesDemonstrate leadership, versatility, flexibility, enthusiasm, and creativity while working in an environment with constantly changing priorities and deadlinesQA/QC materials going into proposals or SOQsProofread and edit drafts of documents created by others for spelling, grammar, clarity of communication, and consistency in formattingDevelop a comprehensive understanding of all company services, and all materials and information required for proposal submissionsPerform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties assignedKey Attributes:The ability to –Ability & willingness to travel to different offices across UK & Europe if necessaryWork with a wide range of stakeholdersBe highly organised and well managedQualifications & Skills:5+ Years marketing and business development experience in the built environment sector, with deep understanding of the bid processBuilt environment knowledge and/or some Infrastructure experienceKnowledge of bids and proposal process within the built environment sector, ideally for QS and/or PM servicesDeep public sector bid experience; worked with both marketing, consultants and salesKnowledge of infrastructure or public sector projects for construction or related fieldsBroad experience in built environmentCRM/tracking system experienceMultiple project management in parallelExperience working with CRM and creating performance dashboards.
