Senior Boiler Operator – Overview

We are working with an established Energy Services company who are seeking a Senior Boiler Operator to join the team at one of their key sites in Paisley area. The site is a large hospital with a central Energy Centre which the company operate and maintain. The main systems are Steam, Biomass, LTHW, Pumps, Valves, Hydraulics, controls and more.

As Senior Boiler Operator you will be responsible for all O&M works within the energy centre as well as taking on more senior responsibilities within the team. These include supervising and mentoring others, supervision of subcontractors, responsibility for the biomass fuel supply to the site including monitoring stock levels, supervising HSEQ on site and managing spares stock in a proactive manner. Part of your role will also be to ensure accurate and detailed report and record keeping of fuel supply, maintenance, testing and HSEQ incidents. You will interface with the clients engineering and maintenance teams and ensure excellent levels of communication.

This is a singular site role so you will working on a static basis rather than mobile. The company operate a 1-in-4 call out rota at the site for which you receive £165 retainer for the week and overtime rates if called you. You are paid a minimum of 4 hours pay if called out meaning that even if it is a short visit to flick a switch, you will still receive 4 hours pay at overtime rates.

As it’s a static site, there is no vehicle included for personal use however there is a pool vehicle on site if you need to move around the property or pick up parts etc.

The working hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday with a 1 hour lunch break.

Senior Boiler Operator – Requirements

* BOAS qualification

* Experience on Steam Generating Plant

* Technical experience within plant rooms, ideally on LTHW, Pumps, Valves, Controls

* Based within a commutable distance of Paisley

Senior Boiler Operator – Salary & Remuneration

* Salary of £46,000 - £53,000 (DOE)

* Overtime (1.5x in the week and Saturdays, 2x on Sunday)

* Call Out Bonuses - £165 retainer + overtime rates and a minimum of 4 hours paid per call
