Senior Bookkeeper

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a dynamic and growing accountancy firm based in Brighton.

This is a fantastic opening for someone who thrives in a busy environment and is passionate about delivering top-tier bookkeeping services to a varied client base.

Working as part of a friendly and sociable outsourcing team, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting clients with their bookkeeping and VAT requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

• Performing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients using cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and ClearBooks
• Preparing management accounts and trial balances, including reconciliations, prepayments, and accruals
• Submitting VAT and CIS returns within regulatory deadlines
• Acting as a first point of contact for client queries, providing outstanding support and advice
• Assisting clients with software and bookkeeping issues
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within set timescales

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong bookkeeping experience – ideally gained within an accountancy firm
• Excellent working knowledge of cloud accounting platforms
• Confident in dealing with VAT matters
• Superb organisational and time management skills
• Friendly, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
