Job Description - Senior Building Surveyor

Building Surveyor

Newcastle Under Lyme Staffordshire

Junior (2+ years) to senior level applications welcome.

up to £55,000 DOE + flexibility + 2/3 days hybrid + APC or other funding + company benefits

This role will see you working across a range of property sectors, focusing on detailed surveying work that supports the development, refurbishment and compliance of commercial buildings.

This position is based in Newcastle Under Lyme with client sites across Staffordshire. You’ll be delivering both technical surveying services and high-level consultancy to clients who operate in business-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct a wide range of building surveys including condition, dilapidations, pre-acquisition, and defect diagnosis
Prepare detailed reports, specifications, and schedules of work
Support project delivery from inception to completion, particularly on refurbishment and lifecycle upgrade programmes
Deliver technical due diligence and compliance advice across a varied property portfolio
Coordinate with internal M&E teams, architects, and project managers to ensure integrated solutions
Provide expert advice to clients, balancing compliance, cost-effectiveness and long-term asset planning
Contribute to fee proposals and support business development efforts where required

The Person:

Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
Ideally chartered (MRICS) or working towards chartership
Experience delivering commercial surveying services
Understanding of building regulations, CDM, and relevant health and safety standards
