Senior Building Surveyor

We're looking for an experienced Repairs & Maintenance Surveyor to join our team and help us deliver high-quality housing services. This role is perfect for someone with strong surveying, contract management, and people skills who enjoys making a difference for residents.

• Managing responsive repairs contracts and driving service improvements.
• Inspecting reported repairs, diagnosing issues, and ordering works.
• Checking completed repairs for quality, value for money, and resident satisfaction.
• Authorising works and approving contractor payments.
• Overseeing void (empty) properties and ensuring quick turnaround times.
• Carrying out stock condition surveys and updating asset databases.
• Leading on planned works projects from start to finish.
• Handling complaints and disrepair cases professionally and within set timescales.
• Participating in an out-of-hours rota (with additional pay).
• Supporting and coaching colleagues to deliver excellent service.

• Experience in surveying, repairs, or maintenance within housing or construction.
• Strong knowledge of contract management and procurement processes.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with residents, contractors, and colleagues.
• Ability to handle complaints with professionalism and empathy.
• Understanding of compliance, health & safety, GDPR, and equality standards.
