Senior Buyer

My client - a powerhouse in the procurement and supply chain industry - is looking for a high-performing Senior Buyer to join their growing team in Manchester.

This is a high-impact, strategic role where you'll take the lead on strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and cost optimisation across the business. You'll be the driving force behind supplier performance, value creation, and efficient procurement of goods and services.

• Lead and implement strategic sourcing plans to deliver cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.

• Conduct market analysis to identify and engage top-tier suppliers.

• Build strong, value-driven supplier partnerships aligned with business goals.

• Oversee supplier performance reviews, evaluations, and audits.

• Manage the full procurement cycle - from requisition to purchase order - ensuring policy compliance.

• Negotiate contracts and SLAs that drive value while managing risk.

• Promote supplier diversity and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to protect business continuity.

• Proven success in a buyer/procurement role with strong supplier and stakeholder management experience.

• Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing, procurement processes, and contract negotiation.

• Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.

• Analytical mindset - confident using data to make smart, strategic decisions.

• Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

• Familiarity with ERP or e-procurement platforms is a plus.

• A degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Procurement is essential.

• CIPS membership or accreditation is highly desirable.
