Senior Buyer

Role Overview:

REED Procurement are working with a UK wide Manufacturer who are seeking a Group Buyer to join their Purchasing functions, specifically covering the CapEx category for Group. This role involves the strategic sourcing of significant CapEx investments in plant, facilities, and equipment. You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to optimize the approach to new technologies and equipment, aiming to improve operational and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of CapEx investments.
• Collaborate with project teams and manage the purchasing process, including RFIs, RFQs, supplier qualification, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with policies and manage the entire supplier contracting process.
• Track and monitor CapEx spend against budgets, ensuring procurement activities stay within financial targets.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers, aligning with business values and sustainability goals.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in strategic sourcing and procurement within an engineering category.
• Strong background in CapEx and Indirect procurement.
• Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with sustainability initiatives related to buildings and facilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Location: This role can be based one of the following sites and would have a requirement to be on site 2-3 days per week: Cardiff, Pontypool, Sheffield, Sailsbury, Manchester, or Glasgow sites.
