Your new company
Hays Procurement are working with a leading specialist manufacturing organisation based in Telford. Due to growth, they are now looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to join the team in a newly created role. The role will be based from their offices in Telford. It is a permanent full-time role which offers an earlier finish on Fridays.

Your new role
The Senior Buyer will join an established team to manage the strategic souring of materials and to drive cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities will include -

• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies.
• Strategic sourcing and supplier review.
• Supplier negotiation to maximise cost savings and achieve favourable terms.
• Build collaborative relationships with suppliers and proactively manage performance.
• Benchmarking and spend date analysis
• Risk management - identify supply chain risk and develop plans to mitigate accordingly.
• Assess, develop and implement procurement processes and initiatives.
• Optimise inventory levels.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will be a Senior Buyer with experience from the manufacturing, automotive, engineering or similar sectors. You will be able to demonstrate experience in strategic sourcing, negotiation, cost management and optimisation, inventory management and supplier management. You will be personable and approachable with strong analytical and influencing skills. Ideally, you will be CIPS qualified (or studying).

What you'll get in return
You receive a salary of £50,000 to £55,000 plus 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), a matched contribution pension scheme and free parking on site.
