Senior Buyer

A Senior Buyer / Procurement Specialist is sought by a Derbyshire based Engineering company to work closely with their supplier base on day-to-day purchasing activities.

You will be responsible for the procurement activities of the business, including supplier management and management of the internal stores department. Your key responsibilities will be: -

• Day to Day Purchasing raising purchase orders and ensuring the delivery of competitively priced goods and services for the business.
  
• Formulating procurement strategies, sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers for the business.
• Overseeing and managing the procurement element of the company’s ERP system and ensuring compliance to processes and procedures throughout the business.
• Managing the internal stores function of the business to ensure effective management of stock levels and stock control.
• Coordinate the delivery schedule of our key suppliers with the company’s production schedule.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Buyer with qualifications in supply chain management, logistics or business administration. You will need experience of managing supply chain operations including stores, be organised and detail oriented and have good multi-tasking and time management skills. Experience in the implementation and development of supply chain management /ERP software systems would be ideal. A background in engineering is preferred with any electrical engineering experience a strong advantage as would be CIPS membership.
