Senior Buyer

The Company
We are delighted to be working with a leading engineering business to recruit a Senior Buyer.
They have secured long term contracts, delivering complex capital equipment to high profile clients and are expanding their Procurement Team to support this.

The Opportunity
Working within a well established Procurement Team, the Senior Buyer will have a varied and all encompassing remit, covering end to end sourcing, contract negotiations, order placement, expediting and supplier relationship/performance management.
The Senior Buyer will act as a Project Manager for their mix of specific projects and commodities which may include engineered components/machined parts, forgings, castings etc.
They will collaborate closely with key stakeholders from within Projects, Finance, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Commercial when resolving supply chain issues and will actively research, re-source and implement new supply agreements, both onboarding new suppliers and identifying opportunities to improve existing agreements.

About You
The ideal Senior Buyer will have/be:

• Educated to degree level and/or CIPS qualified (or studying towards) - preferable
• Proven track record within a project-based manufacturing/engineering environment essential
• Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills - able to communicate effectively/build relationships with multifunctional stakeholders
• Technically strong – able to read technical drawings
• Tenacious, resilient, autonomous, proactive, assertive problem-solver
