Our client, a well-established and respected manufacturing company with more than a century of success, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their purchasing and supply chain team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic procurement professional who enjoys building supplier partnerships, negotiating favorable agreements, and ensuring materials are available to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. You'll play a key role in optimizing purchasing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and contributing to operational efficiency across the organization.

What You'll Do

  Develop and execute purchasing strategies focused on cost, quality, and on-time delivery.

  
  


• 
  

  Source raw materials, packaging, maintenance supplies, and production-related materials.

  
  


• 
  

  Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.

  
  


• 
  

  Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.

  
  


• 
  

  Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage purchase orders from placement through completion.

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain appropriate inventory levels while supporting production schedules.

  
  


• 
  

  Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  
  


• 
  

  Reconcile supplier inventory and resolve discrepancies.

  
  


• 
  

  Partner with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and R&D on new product launches and material changes.

  
  


• 
  

  Create and maintain item master data, part numbers, and supplier records.

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and best practices.

  
  

What We're Looking For

• 
  

  Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related field preferred.

  
  


• 
  

  5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with inventory planning and purchasing systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  
  


• 
  

  High attention to detail and follow-through.

  
  


• 
  

  Experience with international sourcing or importing is a plus.
