Our client, a leading manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Buyer to join their established procurement team on an initial 6-month contract. This is a great opportunity for an experienced buyer to take ownership of purchasing activity, supplier performance and commercial delivery within a complex manufacturing environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
Managing day-to-day purchasing and purchase orders. Obtaining quotations and negotiating pricing and commercial terms. Managing supplier lead times, deliveries and expediting where required. Building strong supplier relationships and addressing cost, quality and delivery issues. Supporting cost reduction and supplier improvement initiatives. Working closely with production, engineering, quality and planning to ensure continuity of supply. Identifying and resolving supply chain risks and purchasing issues.You'll have:
Experience within manufacturing (essential). Strong supplier management and negotiation skills. Experience managing orders, lead times and delivery performance. A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
