Senior Category Manager

Role: Senior Category Manager - Security Detection Framework

Location: Reading (2 days per week on-site, remaining time remote)

Contract Length: 9 months

IR35: Outside scope

Rate: £75-77.20 per hour

Clearance: Active SC clearance preferred

This role is with our client in the public sector and sits at the intersection of perimeter security, CCTV and facilities security procurement, working within a highly regulated and sensitive environment.

Top experience they are looking for

Proven procurement/category management experience in perimeter security, CCTV, and facilities security
Strong track record in public sector procurement (including regulated environments)
Working experience or exposure to the NPSA and associated security standards/guidance

Key elements of the role

Developing and implementing category strategies for security-related spend, aligned with business and stakeholder objectives
Leading complex strategic sourcing activities (including RFx, supplier evaluation and selection, and contract negotiation)
Owning commercial and contractual management, ensuring robust contract administration and compliance
Driving supplier relationship management, including segmentation, risk identification and mitigation, and performance management
Providing commercial assurance and managing project and commercial risk across key security categories
Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to secure buy-in for category strategies and supply base decisions

Profile that tends to fit well

Seasoned Category Manager / Senior Procurement Manager with strong security category experience
Background in public sector or highly regulated environments
Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on delivery level
Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
