Senior Cellar Hand - Evening shift position - 4 days per week.
Upon successfully joining Nyetimber, you will initially join on day shifts while undergoing training, once this has been completed (we estimate within 3 months) we will move to our afternoon shift to start gaining the benefit of extended production hours, once this has been successfully implemented you will start the evening shift permanently.
All of the above will be Monday - Thursday (compressed full time hours)
There will be a
10% increase in pay
when you start the afternoon shift and a
20% increase in pay

We are expanding our Cellar Team and have an exciting opportunity for an
experienced Senior Cellar Hand.
The Senior Cellar Hand reports directly to the Cellar Manager. You will be responsible for the tasks related to ensure high quality sparkling wine production through the efficient execution of cellar operations. You will act as an integral team leader within the Winery and have regular communication with our Head Winemaker, Senior Winemaker, Cellar Hands, Winery Office Manager and Maintenance Engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Supervisory Together with the winery team to implement daily and weekly work schedules Lead and participate in all aspects of daily winery operations Train, motivate and supervise temporary cellar staff where required to achieve safety and efficiency targets If required, to act as shift manager at the winery or pressing centre during the harvest period
Winery Operational Duties To operate the bottling, and disgorging lines when required including leading other cellar staff and/or agency staff working on the lines. Together with other winery staff, carry out blending of wines and other associated tasks for wine in tank. Responsible for the correct and timely stabilisation and filtration of wines in preparation for bottling as directed. Train junior staff and new starters on winemaking tasks to the point where they could work with supervision. Responsible for writing protocols, training documents and reports to a professional standard.
General Extras hours and complete flexibility over working days is required at crucial times of the year, especially Harvest. To work in collaboration with all members of the winery team to ensure smooth operation of the winery and a positive work environment. To maintain a safe, clean, neat and tidy work environment at all times and act as a role model in that regard for temporary staff. To work at any of the Nyetimber production facilities as required. To show initiative in keeping up to date with personal training records and updates to winery Standard Operating Protocols and/or Risk Assessments. To undertake any prescribed training as required. To act as a positive ambassador of Nyetimber when interacting with external parties. Able to speak passionately and expertly about wine production at Nyetimber. Undertake other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the role and any other reasonable management request.
