About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join a residential children's home in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress their career within residential childcare while making a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people.
As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children with their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, and personal development. You will lead by example, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and positive home environment where young people can thrive.
What will you be doing?
Providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. Leading shifts and supporting the effective day-to-day running of the home. Building positive relationships with young people and acting as a trusted role model. Supporting children to achieve their personal, educational, and social goals. Completing care plans, daily records, and incident reports accurately. Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of children is always the highest priority. Working closely with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals. Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.Experience/Qualifications Required
Previous experience working within a children's residential care setting. Experience as a Senior Support Worker or a strong Support Worker ready to step up. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is desirable. Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including sleep-ins. Full UK Driving Licence is preferred. A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.Benefits
