Location: Berkshire
Salary: £60,000 – £75,000 (Depending on Experience)

An established and growing UK engineering consultancy is looking to recruit multiple Senior Civil Engineers to join its expanding design team.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Civil Engineers with a background in infrastructure and civil engineering design to take on a senior technical role, leading projects, supporting junior engineers and contributing to the continued growth of the business.

The position offers a pathway towards Design Manager level, with opportunities to take on greater technical and project leadership responsibilities.

The Role

Initially, you will be required to attend the Berkshire office for your first month for induction and to integrate with the existing team. Following this, the position will move to a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the detailed design and delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

* Provide technical leadership across infrastructure design and project delivery.

* Oversee project planning, design development and technical optioneering.

* Review and check engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation.

* Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.

* Develop cost-effective and practical engineering solutions.

* Manage project resources, programmes, fees and change control.

* Coordinate designs with existing infrastructure and associated assets.

* Undertake feasibility studies, condition assessments and technical evaluations.

* Supervise the preparation of technical drawings and design information.

* Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities and other stakeholders.

* Lead technical meetings and provide engineering guidance throughout projects.

* Attend site visits, surveys and inspections where required.

* Provide technical input into construction methodologies and risk management.

Requirements

* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

* Minimum of 4 years' UK-based civil engineering design experience.

* Experience delivering infrastructure or civil engineering design projects.

* Strong understanding of relevant UK engineering standards and design guidance.

* Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

* Familiarity with hydraulic modelling or other relevant engineering design software would be advantageous.

* Strong technical problem-solving and project coordination skills.

* Experience reviewing designs and supporting or mentoring junior engineers.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake site visits.
