Senior Claims Adjuster - Professional Indemnity

We are currently looking for a Senior Professional Indemnity Claims Adjuster on behalf of our client, a commercial insurance provider operating in the Lloyd's and company markets, with offices throughout Europe.

Working under limited supervision, the successful candidate will investigate and handle complex Professional Indemnity claims, with a particular focus on claims against Construction professionals.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of complex Professional Indemnity claims.
• Interpreting more complex or unusual policy coverages and determining if coverages apply to claims submitted.
• Coordinating and performing investigations and evaluating claims through contact with insureds, claimants, business partners, witnesses and experts.
• Working with solicitors, customers, brokers, experts and insureds to develop a focused strategy for timely and cost effective resolution of more complex claims.
• Pro-actively managing claims, setting appropriate reserves in line with reserving philosophy, and authorising payments within scope of authority.
• Utilising negotiation skills to develop complex settlement packages.
• Identifying claims with third party recovery potential.
• Analysing claims activities, preparing and presenting reports for management.

Requirements

• Significant proven claims handling experience, preferably with a focus on Professional Indemnity.
• Experience of handling claims against Construction Professionals preferred.
• Good understanding of policy language and application of law to policy language and adjusting.
• Ability to assess the merits of claims, as well as evaluating claims based on a cost benefit analysis.
• Understanding of underwriting risk, disciplines and processes.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
