Job Description - Senior Claims Handler

We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious independent commercial broker in Scotland who are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join their team.

This role can be based in Perth or Glasgow.

As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial claims, ensuring efficient and effective resolution from start to finish. You will act as a key point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance and maintaining the highest standards of service.

What you’ll be doing:
Handle a diverse range of commercial claims.
Communicate effectively with clients, insurers, loss adjusters, and other parties to facilitate timely and fair claim settlements.
Conduct thorough investigations and assessments to determine liability and coverage.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior claims handlers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in claims handling.
Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient claims management processes.

Requirements:
Proven experience as a Claims Handler, particularly with commercial claims.
Deep understanding of insurance policies, coverage issues, and claims procedures.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple claims concurrently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficiency with claims management software and related tools.
Professional qualifications such as CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) are highly desirable.
