The business operates across sectors including high-rise residential, Build to Rent, affordable housing, student accommodation, and specialist developments. With a strong pipeline of major projects and a focus on quality, commercial performance, and long-term client relationships, the business is continuing to strengthen its senior commercial function. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Claims Surveyor to take responsibility for complex contractual and commercial claims across major projects. The Role As Senior Claims Surveyor, you will take a lead role in the preparation, management, negotiation, and resolution of complex construction claims. You will work closely with senior commercial and project teams, clients, legal advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure the company's contractual and commercial position is protected. Key responsibilities will include: Preparing and managing complex contractual claims across major construction projects Leading Extension of Time (EOT), disruption, loss and expense, and associated claims Reviewing contracts and project records to establish entitlement and quantum Preparing detailed contractual and commercial submissions Negotiating claims with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders Providing specialist contractual and claims advice to project and commercial teams Supporting the preparation of matters for adjudication and wider dispute resolution Reviewing project documentation, programmes, records, correspondence, and commercial information Identifying potential claims and commercial risks at an early stage Working alongside Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers to maximise contractual entitlement Supporting senior management with complex contractual and commercial matters Maintaining strong, professional client relationships throughout the claims process The Ideal Candidate The successful Senior Claims Surveyor will have: 10+ years' Quantity Surveying experience Significant experience working on major building, infrastructure, or complex construction projects Extensive experience preparing and negotiating EOT, disruption, loss & expense, and contractual claims Proven experience managing claims from initial identification through to negotiation and resolution Experience preparing documentation and evidence for adjudication and dispute proceedings A Law Degree or strong legal/contractual background Strong knowledge of construction contracts and contractual mechanisms Previous experience working within a Tier 1 contractor or major-project environment Excellent analytical and report-writing skills Strong understanding of delay, disruption, quantum, and contractual entitlement Excellent negotiation and communication skills Strong client-facing ability with the confidence to deal directly with senior stakeholders Relevant professional qualification such as MRICS would be advantageous What's on Offer £80,000 - £110,000 salary depending on experience Excellent benefits package Senior specialist role within a growing construction business Opportunity to work on major and technically complex construction projects Significant responsibility for high-value contractual claims Exposure to senior leadership and major client organisations Long-term career progression and professional development Supportive and commercially focused working environment Apply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris.
