Job Description - Senior Cloud Accountant

Bury St Edmunds
Hybrid Working Available
Up to £45,000 + Bonus

A well-established, independent accountancy firm with a strong national and international presence is looking for a Senior Cloud Accountant to join its business management team in Bury St Edmunds. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile client portfolio, particularly in the media and entertainment sectors, while being part of a diverse and collaborative team committed to professional development and innovation.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a dedicated client portfolio, acting as the lead point of contact.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, VAT returns and cash flow forecasts.
  • Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and data entry.
  • Handle purchase and sales ledgers, along with credit control duties.
  • Use cloud-based platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks Online and Dext.
  • Maintain close communication with clients and their representatives.
  • Support, guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Attend occasional meetings at the London office.

Personal Requirements

  • Experience working in a UK-based accountancy practice.
  • Familiarity with Xero is essential; experience with Dext and/or QuickBooks is a bonus.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Keen to take initiative and grow professionally within the firm.
