Senior Commercial Account Handler

We’re partnering with a respected insurance broker in the Stockport area to find a Senior Commercial Account Handler. This role is a fantastic opportunity to manage an established portfolio of larger corporate clients with premiums typically over £100,000. Initially covering maternity leave, you’ll quickly take ownership of your own caseload, driving long-term client relationships.

You will work closely with Account Executives to deliver expert servicing and technical support across a diverse range of complex commercial accounts. This role suits a professional who thrives on managing corporate risks and building strong client relationships.

The Senior Commercial Account Handler role:

• Take full ownership of a portfolio of complex, high-value commercial accounts, acting as a primary client liaison and delivering strategic, tailored advice.
• Lead all stages of the client lifecycle, including pre-renewal strategy, insurer negotiations, and accurate documentation and reporting.
• Manage the seamless handover and servicing of a colleague’s portfolio during maternity cover, maintaining high standards throughout.
• Execute mid-term adjustments efficiently while maintaining proactive communication with clients and insurers.
• Ensure all client records are meticulously maintained and compliant with FCA regulations using Acturis.
• Actively contribute to team and insurer meetings, sharing expertise to drive continuous improvement and departmental success.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a Commercial Account Handler managing corporate-level accounts with sizeable premiums.
• Strong technical knowledge of cross-class commercial insurance products and broking processes.
• Dip CII or higher qualification preferred, or substantial relevant experience.
• Familiarity with Acturis software is very much preferred for this role.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a client-focused approach.
