Senior Commercial Account Handler

Location: Harrogate | Salary: Up to £55,000 + Excellent Benefits

We’re delighted to be working with a thriving and ambitious insurance broker based in Harrogate, who are continuing to grow at an impressive rate. As part of their expansion, they are looking to appoint a Senior Commercial Account Handler to support one of the Directors in servicing and retaining a portfolio of large, complex, and high-value clients.

The Role

As a Senior Commercial Account Handler, you will play a key role in managing a portfolio of high-value commercial clients, delivering a seamless and professional service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing new business, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and negotiating competitive terms with insurers.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and documentation to support Account Executives and Directors.
  • Leverage strong negotiation skills to secure the best possible outcomes from insurer partners.
  • Handling accounts with premiums ranging from £10,000 to £500,000 GWP.
  • Accurately maintaining client records using Acturis and ensuring FCA compliance at all times.
  • Staying up to date with market developments and proactively sharing insights with clients and colleagues.
  • Acting as a technical point of reference for the wider team, providing guidance and support where needed.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial insurance, ideally within a brokerage environment.
  • Solid all-round commercial knowledge, including Property Owners, PI, Cyber, and D&O.
  • Proven experience handling clients with premiums exceeding £10,000.
  • A good understanding of the insurer market, with established underwriter relationships preferred.
  • Confident, commercially astute, and able to think creatively to find solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Cert CII qualification as a minimum (or working towards it).
  • Familiarity with Acturis is advantageous.
